The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) 4 Infantry Division has effected changes in its departmental leadership, with new officers assuming the offices of Division Administration Officer and Public Information Officer during handover and takeover functions held at the Division Headquarters in Gulu.
The Division’s Deputy Commander, Colonel Richard Kidega, while presiding over the handover and takeover ceremony between the outgoing Division Administration Officer, Col Godfrey Anang, and the incoming senior officer, Col John Mark Ssemanda, commended Col Anang for his exemplary service, discipline, and dedication during his tenure.
He congratulated Col Ssemanda on his appointment and urged him to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and commitment in the execution of his duties.
Earlier, the Division Political Commissar, Lt Col Hassan Kalungi, presided over the handover of office between the outgoing Public Information Officer, Captain David Kamya, and the incoming substantive Public Information Officer, Major Biral Katamba.
Lt Col Kalungi praised both officers for their resilience, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to duty. He underscored the importance of hard work, teamwork, discipline, and effective coordination in enhancing the Division’s operational effectiveness and ensuring the successful execution of its mandate.
The handover and takeover ceremonies were attended by the Division Operations Officer, Col Oloya Orombi, departmental heads, staff officers, and other personnel.
