The Wazalendo SACCO Branch in Achol-Pii, Pader District, under the 5 Infantry Division has appointed Mr Charles Assimwe as its new Branch Manager, taking over from Captain Charles Hassan Assimwe, who served in the position for four years.
The handover and takeover ceremony was presided over by the Director of Finance and Administration at Wazalendo SACCO, Colonel Benon Kato, who commended the 5 Infantry Division Commander, Major General Keith Katungyi, for his continued support to the SACCO branch and its staff.
Col Kato called for continued support to the new Branch Manager, saying the cooperation extended to his predecessor had contributed to the smooth running of the branch.
He urged Mr Assimwe to maintain a strong working relationship between WSACCO and the Division to enhance service delivery and improve the branch’s performance.
“Your role is to serve members within the 5 Division Area of Responsibility by offering cardinal services. Ensure your clients and members leave your branch happy and with a smile,” Col Kato said.
The outgoing Branch Manager, Capt Charles Hassan Assimwe, thanked WSACCO leadership for the opportunity to serve in the position, noting that his four-year tenure was marked by significant achievements.
Under his leadership, the Acholi Pii branch was recognised as the Best WSACCO Non-Cash Branch of the Year 2025.
The incoming Branch Manager, Mr Charles Assimwe, thanked God for the opportunity to serve WSACCO members in Acholi Pii and pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessor.
“Excellence is not one man’s work, but teamwork,” he said, promising to uphold and surpass the legacy left by Capt Assimwe.
The handover and takeover ceremony was attended by commanders, heads of departments, WSACCO delegates and staff from various units under 5 Infantry Division.
