The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) 106 Military Police Battalion conducted a 30-kilometre route march as part of ongoing military drills aimed at enhancing operational readiness, physical fitness, and troop endurance.
The exercise covered Buyala, Nakilebe, and Katende areas.
Major Gideon Bindeba Mugisha commended officers and soldiers for exhibiting high morale, discipline, and resilience throughout the exercise.
Maj Mugisha stated that the route march is part of the military drills initiated by the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, to enhance the operational preparedness of UPDF personnel. He added that the exercises are intended to keep soldiers physically fit and ready to undertake assigned missions.
Some of the participating soldiers said the regular physical training exercises enhance their endurance, teamwork, and preparedness for future operational tasks.
Different UPDF Divisions and Formations have in the recently past conducted route marches across the country in line with the directive from the Chief of Defence Forces.
