The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) Motorized Infantry Division has undergone a leadership transition in its Division Operations and Training Office following a formal handover ceremony held at the Division Headquarters.
The ceremony was presided over by the Division Commander, Major General Charles Byanyima, who oversaw the handover from the outgoing Division Operations and Training Officer (DOTO), Colonel Esibio Obuyere Omaria, to Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Taremwa Kamuntu.
Maj Gen Byanyima commended Col Omaria for his dedication, professionalism, and endurance during his tenure, noting his significant contribution to the Division’s operational readiness and training effectiveness.
Col Omaria expressed appreciation to the UPDF leadership for the opportunity to serve in a key role within the Division, particularly in strengthening technical training and supporting operational objectives.
Lt Col Kamuntu thanked the UPDF leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility and pledged to work closely with the Division leadership and staff to enhance operational efficiency and training standards.
The ceremony was attended by senior and junior UPDF officers, Brigade Operations and Training Officers, and heads of departments under the Motorized Infantry Division. Division.
