The Head of Women Affairs in the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces Land Force, Colonel Carol Basaliza, visited female soldiers serving under the 3 Infantry Division in Moroto, where she held engagements focused on discipline, professionalism, health and career development.
Col Basaliza cautioned junior female soldiers against lifestyles that could disrupt their military careers and limit opportunities for professional growth.
“Your military career requires commitment and sacrifice. Take time to develop professionally, pursue available courses and participate in training and operational activities before making decisions that could affect your service,” she advised.
She commended the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and the UPDF leadership for supporting initiatives aimed at educating and empowering female and junior soldiers across UPDF formations.
Col Basaliza emphasized financial discipline and the female personnel to manage their resources responsibly and engage in productive activities.
In a related activity, Col Basaliza together with her team participated in a community clean-up exercise at Moroto Market, during the Monthly National Cleaning Day Exercise.
Col Basaliza was accompanied by Gender Officer Major Topista Opar, among others.
