The Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, today held talks with Lieutenant General Issa Saif Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, to enhance military cooperation between Uganda and the United Arab Emirates.
General Kainerugaba welcomed his counterpart at Entebbe International Airport before accompanying him to the Special Forces Command headquarters for discussions.
The meeting was attended by senior Ugandan military officials, including Lieutenant General Kayanja Muhanga, Commander of Land Forces; Lieutenant General Jack Bakasumba, Chief of Joint Staff; and Major General David Mugisha, Commander of the SFC among other UPDF Generals and senior officers.
The UAE delegation included high-ranking military officers.
During the talks, General Kainerugaba highlighted the strengthening defence partnership between the two countries and noted that a forthcoming military Memorandum of Understanding would further solidify bilateral relations.
A presentation on existing cooperation underscored shared interests in regional peace and security.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to a common vision of stability in their respective regions, signaling deeper collaboration in the future.
