The District Commissioner of Kilometre 50 in Somalia, Mr. Moxamad Muxamuud, paid a courtesy visit to the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) Battle Group 43 Headquarters at Ceeljaale Forward Operating Base in Lower Shabelle, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security collaboration in the region.
Mr. Muxamuud was received by the Battle Group 43 Commander, Colonel Robert Koch. Their engagement focused on enhancing coordination between AUSSOM, the Somali National Army and regional forces, with an emphasis on joint operations aimed at liberating key areas and villages.
Mr. Muxamuud commended Battle Group 43 for its leadership and continued commitment to stabilising Lower Shabelle despite operational challenges.
Col Koch said close cooperation between civil authorities, local communities, the National Intelligence and Security Agency and the Somali National Army has significantly improved the security situation.
“We have not registered any major security incidents in the general areas of Marka District due to strong coordination with the Somali National Army,” Col. Koch said.
The meeting was attended the key officials who accompanied the commissioner and battlegroup officers.
