The Director of Human Resource Management – Land Forces, Brig Gen Mutaawe, has called for accountability, resilience, and innovation within the Directorate of Education, Sports and Culture of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF).

Brig Gen Mutaawe praised Col Taremwa for his commitment and achievements during his tenure. He also congratulated him on being selected to attend the National Defence College, noting that the experience would broaden his strategic outlook and further equip him to contribute to the Force’s development. “You will return a changed person, ready to elevate the department to another level,” Brig Gen Mutaawe said.
He encouraged Lt Col Mukundane to embrace the role with a sense of full responsibility. “This is a sensitive office. You must be accountable and foster innovation to meet the expectations of the leadership and the institution,” he added.
In his remarks, Col Taremwa thanked the UPDF leadership for the opportunity to serve and expressed appreciation to his colleagues for their teamwork and support.
Lt Col Mukundane pledged to build on his predecessor’s work and maintain the department’s core mission. “With the experience I have, I will continue to steer the boat in the right direction,” he said.
