Brig Gen William Beinomugisha, Commandant of the Military Police Brigade, has applauded the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) leadership for its continued investment in training soldiers to handle political tensions and emerging security threats effectively.
Addressing the graduates of Intake 1/2025 during a pass-out ceremony at the Military Police Training School in Masindi, Brig Gen Beinomugisha stressed the importance of discipline in maintaining national stability. “Violence undermines the country’s image and stability,” he said, urging the newly trained soldiers to uphold the Military Police motto, “We lead by example.”
He encouraged them to apply the skills acquired during their training in their respective deployments with professionalism and commitment.
The Commandant of the Training School, Col Amon Kagina, praised the trainees for their resilience throughout the rigorous course. He called on them to respond promptly to military orders and to deploy their new skills with precision and confidence.
A total of 243 soldiers, drawn from various UPDF units and sister security agencies, successfully completed the Public Order Management Course. The training is aimed at strengthening the force’s capacity to manage public order incidents across the country.
The ceremony was attended by Col J.K. Musenene, senior UPDF officers, local leaders, representatives from religious institutions, the Uganda Police Force, and the Uganda Prisons Service.
