Fellow Ugandans,
As our nation marks 63 years of Independence, we celebrate not only our freedom but also the peace, unity, and resilience that have kept Uganda strong and moving forward.
Independence reminds us that true sovereignty is sustained through discipline, responsibility, and love for our country. It calls upon each one of us to protect the values for which our forefathers sacrificed i.e unity, hard work, and service to nation.
The Ministry of Defence & Veteran Affairs and the entire Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), together with our sister security agencies, remain steadfast in preserving the peace and stability that define our independence. We take pride in our constitutional duty to protect the sovereignty of Uganda and the safety of her citizens.
As we approach the election season, we call upon all Ugandans to uphold peace and mutual respect. Political competition must never divide us it should instead strengthen our democracy. The UPDF reiterates its non-partisan and professional commitment to ensure that every Ugandan exercises their constitutional rights in a secure and peaceful environment.
Peace is our shared responsibility. It is through unity, tolerance, and love for one another that we can continue building the Uganda we all desire a nation of stability, dignity, and progress.
On behalf of the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MoDVA) and entire Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces family, I extend heartfelt Independence greetings to all Ugandans. Let us celebrate with pride, gratitude, and renewed commitment to our country’s peace and prosperity.
