Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) personnel serving under Operation ‘Mlinzi wa Kimya’ in South Sudan have been urged to remain vigilant and uphold the highest standards of discipline as they continue working to consolidate peace and security in the region.
Brigadier General Anthony Lukwago Mbuusi, the Joint Task Force Commander, made the call while briefing the forces on their combat readiness and professional conduct. He reminded them that discipline remains a core value of the UPDF and is essential to the success of their mission.
Brig Gen Mbuusi praised the troops for their role in stabilising South Sudan but also encouraged them to embrace financial prudence. He advised saving through Wazalendo SACCO and investing in productive ventures to secure their future and minimise financial pressures.
He further cautioned soldiers to use social media responsibly, warning that misuse could damage their personal reputation and jeopardise operational security.
The briefing was attended by Battle Group Commander Colonel Benard R. Kashemeza and Lieutenant Colonel Alex Habyona, Intelligence Officer of the Joint Task Force Mlinzi wa Kimya.
