Brig Gen Karugaba noted that the UPDF continues to invest in modern logistics and highlighted that military logisticians are engaged in a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including procurement, inventory management, equipment maintenance, fuel and ration distribution, medical logistics coordination, and engineering support services.
He encouraged students to take full advantage of the training, stressing that mastery of logistics would set them apart in the profession.
“You’ll be a logistics boss if you grasp what is going to be taught here,” said Brig Gen Karugaba.
He observed that modern supply chain professionals are increasingly transitioning from routine administrative tasks to more analytical and strategic roles.
“Manual tasks such as document creation are being automated, enabling professionals in the supply chain field to focus on strategic and value-added functions,” he said.
The expo brought together UPDF officers, officials from Makerere University Business School, exhibitors, students, and other stakeholders.
