Wazalendo SACCO Urges Branch Managers to Prioritise Members’ Interests

Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Limited (WSACCO) branch managers have been asked to prioritise providing members with affordable and convenient services in their day-to-day operations.

This call was made by the Acting Chief Executive Officer, Col Yusuf Magero Buha, during the opening of a two-day training for managers drawn from the 19 WSACCO branches across the country. The training, which is taking place at WSACCO Headquarters in Kiwatule, is facilitated by the Uganda Cooperative Savings and Credit Union.

“You should not only focus on the routine work at your desk but also embrace the bigger picture of understanding members’ needs, expanding SACCO services, and driving the vision and mission of Wazalendo SACCO, whose centre of gravity is its members” said Col Buha.

Col Buha emphasised maximum coordination between the branches and the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces ( UPDF) command where the branches are located to ensure members fully benefit from the SACCO’s services.

He encouraged the staff to apply the lessons learned during the training and carry out self-assessments to ensure their contributions align with the SACCO’s objectives.

A key highlight of the training is WSACCO’s new Cashflow Loan Product, which allows members to access larger loans based on their cash flows and collateral rather than being limited by getting only salary-based loans

Participants are also receiving training in credit financial analysis, cashflow lending models, and attitude management, among others.

The opening session was also attended by members of senior management, including directors and heads of departments.
