The Commander 4 Infantry Division, Maj Gen Felix Busizoori, has emphasized discipline as the cornerstone of military and professional success during the pass-out ceremony of 34 soldiers who completed the Office Assistant Basic Course, Intake 02/25.
The course was designed to equip the soldiers with knowledge in clerical duties, document management, and office conduct.
Maj Gen Busizoori reminded them that technical skills alone are not enough without discipline. “This training goes beyond typing skills. It is meant to build character, organization, and a disciplined work ethic that reflects the values of the UPDF,” he said.
Maj Gen Busizoori emphasized the importance of improving documentation practices and instilling discipline within offices, noting that proper filing, accurate record-keeping, and respect for institutional systems are crucial for preventing issues like forged allowances and ensuring transparency and accountability.
He urged the soldiers to stay smart, orderly, and professional, stressing that discipline, integrity, and dependability are key to military success.
In his remarks, Lt Col Moses Kaggwa, the Anti Aircraft Commander of the 204 Brigade, commended the UPDF’s commitment to building a disciplined and capable force through training. He noted that a functional orderly room is the backbone of any well-structured military unit.
The ceremony was attended by Brig Gen Jackson Kayanja, Deputy Division Commander, along with heads of departments, staff officers, junior officers, and guests.
