The 5 Division Operations and Training Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Peter Musherure today officially opened a one-week refresher course of 104 Non-Commissioned Officers at the Division Headquarters in Acholi Pii, Pader District. The course is aimed at improving combat readiness within forces since they are the immediate supervisors of small units acting as links.
Lt Col Musherure said that for the Division operations to succeed in its mission, discipline and hard work must be a priority and can be achieved through training.
Lt Col Musherure further cautioned trainees to be courageous, hopeful and time conscious since the knowledge to be attained will help them in the execution of their future tasks. He urged the Officers and Departmental Heads present not to sit on knowledge but instead support the training course as leaders.
The scope of the course will cover areas in drills to improve discipline towards orders, skills at arms, leadership training, first aid, public healthy, intelligence, political education, mindset change, organization and administration, and financial literacy among others.
