Gen Kainerugaba Pledges Support For Super Bowl Champion Mathias Kiwanuka’s Initiatives

Mathias Kiwanuka, the grandson of Uganda’s first prime minister, Benedicto Kiwanuka, met with the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, on Monday.

Kiwanuka, a former American professional football player who played as a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL), has returned to Uganda with the aim of promoting American football in the country.

Defensive end is a player on the defence of an American football team who stands at the end of the line of scrimmage.

The 43-year-old athlete won two Super Bowl championships with the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI.

The meeting with Gen Kainerugaba, who also serves as a senior presidential advisor on Special Operations, was facilitated by Mr Kwame Ruyondo.

During their discussion, Gen Kainerugaba pledged his support for Kiwanuka’s initiative.
