The Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, this afternoon received the new Japanese Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Sasayama Takuya, at the Special Forces Command headquarters in Entebbe.
Gen Kainerugaba welcomed the new ambassador to Uganda before they engaged in a private meeting to discuss bilateral co-operation between Uganda and Japan.
The new ambassador replaced H.E Fukuzawa Hidemoto who concluded his tour of duty in Uganda recently.
Ambassador Takuya was accompanied by his deputy, Tomotaka Yoshimura.
During his previous meeting with Japan’s envoy, Gen Kainerugaba expressed his gratitude to his friend —Ambassador Fukuzawa and the Japanese government for their ‘significant contributions to Uganda’s development, particularly in the areas of infrastructural development, agriculture, and support for refugees.
