On Monday, September 23, 2024, the UPDF and the FARDC, working together in Operation Shujja, conducted an intelligence-led operation against an enemy group east of the Ibiena River in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The operation resulted in significant casualties and demoralization for the enemy, who were also forced to surrender eight (08) SMGs and one (01) PK machine gun.
Additionally, 38 abductees including women and children born in captivity were freed by the combined forces.
As we pursue the ADF terrorists, we congratulate our generals, officers, and men who participated in Operation Shujja and wish the combined forces many more successes in the defence of our territorial integrity.
