Military Police Primary School, based at the Military Police Brigade Headquarters in Makindye Division, has been recognised as a model institution for Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) schools nationwide.
The commendation came during an inspection by Brigadier General Richard Karemire, UPDF Joint Staff Formal Education, Sports, and Culture, who praised the school for maintaining consistently high standards. “This is the kind of perfection and excellence we want to see across all UPDF schools,” said Brig Gen Karemire. “In this new century, we must change the narrative around public education, and institutions like this are leading the way.”
He lauded the school’s leadership and teaching staff for their dedication, emphasising that Military Police Primary is positioning itself to rival top institutions both locally and internationally. “The learners here are the future leaders of this country,” he added, urging educators to continue laying a strong academic foundation.
To support the school further, Brig Gen Karemire pledged to donate a water tank and awarded bursaries to several high-achieving pupils.
Headteacher Ms Mutuwa Anne welcomed the visit, expressing appreciation for the UPDF’s growing investment in education. “This visit is a clear sign that the strategic leadership of the UPDF is fully invested in the success of the education sector,” she said. “We have maintained the required standards with the unwavering support of the Military Police Brigade leadership.”
The delegation also included Colonel J.K. Musenene, the Brigade Operations and Training Officer, alongside other senior Military Police officers.
