Brig Gen Sande Encourages Church To Embrace Government Programs For Poverty Alleviation

Brigadier General Deus Sande, the Commander of the UPDF Armoured Brigade has encouraged church members of St. John Mary Vianney Catholic Church, Rakai District to embrace government programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga which are aimed at alleviating poverty.

 

Brig Gen Sande made the call today as he delivered a donation of one million shillings (cash) and one hundred eighty-five (185) iron sheets towards the completion and roofing of St. John Mary Vianney Catholic Parish Church in Mutukula, Rakai District as a fulfilment of his pledge and support to the church and Christians in the area.

 

Fr. Alex Musoke, the Priest of the Church thanked UPDF and Armoured Brigade in particular for the timely assistance towards the completion of the church.

 

“UPDF is a unique force which delivers its Constitutional mandate, and on top of that, gives back to the community. We appreciate the contribution of Armoured Brigade and Brig Gen Sande for the mobilisation and delivery of the iron sheets to the Church premises,” said Fr. Musoke.
