Hon. Obua Commends UPDF On Versatile Transformation

The Government Chief Whip Hon. Denis Hamson Obua, who is currently holding the portfolio of the Third Deputy Prime Minister and Minister without Portfolio, has commended the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces for achieving a significant versatile transformation besides guaranteeing peace and security.

Speaking at the Senior Command and Staff College (SCSC) Kimaka, Jinja on Saturday, Obua said the UPDF has transformed into an all-round force, and beyond the barrel, contributing to national development in diverse aspects. “I wish to thank His Excellency The President of Uganda/Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and indeed the entire Army leadership for building UPDF into an all-round force anchored on the six principles of Duty, Integrity, Ethics, Honor, Courage and Loyalty,” Obua remarked.

He represented the Third Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Without Portfolio, Rt. Hon. Rukia Nakadama, who is currently out of the country.

In a message read by Hon. Obua, Nakadama said the Cultural Gala under the theme: “Harnessing African Unity and Security through Promotion of our rich Cultural Diversity for a Common Destiny” will equip the senior officers with additional desired skills to serve humanity. “This training will enable our security forces in identifying areas where they can leverage cultural similarities and diversities to facilitate execution of security and preserving humanity,” she said.
