UPDF MPs Donate Theatre Equipment to Bombo General Military Hospital

Members of Parliament representing the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) have donated theatre equipment to Bombo General Military Hospital as part of their efforts to improve healthcare services within the military fraternity.

 

The MPs raised Uganda Shillings 500 million, which was used to develop infrastructure in various military schools and to procure equipment for military hospitals.

 

During the handover ceremony, Hon. Huda Abason Oleru, the Minister of State for Defence and Veteran Affairs (Veteran Affairs), commended the MPs for their commitment to supporting the military community. She urged them to continue with similar initiatives, noting that such contributions benefit not only soldiers but also civilians who cannot afford healthcare services.

 

Hon. Gen. Wilson Mbadi, the State Minister of Trade, highlighted that the donation was part of a broader plan by the 10 MPs representing the UPDF to address gaps in military healthcare and infrastructure. He assured that the MPs would continue lobbying for more funds to support military hospitals and related projects.

 

Maj. Gen. Dr. Ambrose Musinguzi, Chief of Joint Staff Health Services, expressed gratitude to the MPs for their dedication and noted that their contributions had enabled the hospital to acquire two operation tables and anaesthetic machines.

 

The event was attended by senior military officials, including Maj Gen Henry Masiko, Chief Political Commissar; Col Victoria Nekesa; Col Dr Ambrose Oiko; Lt Col Jennifer Alanyo; and other senior and junior officers.
