UPDF Commended For Strong Civil-Military Cooperation In Masaka

The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces has been praised for its exceptional Civil-Military Cooperation, earning it the reputation of a “pro-people’s army.”

Miss Nakyanzi Sarah, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner of Masaka, lauded the UPDF for its strong collaboration with local communities.

 

She expressed gratitude on behalf of the district for various CIMIC projects and activities in Namirembe, Ddimo, and Malembe landing sites, including cleaning exercises and free medical services.

“They have built two classrooms at Kajuna Primary School in Buwuunga Sub-county, constructed two fully equipped houses for nurses in Zimwe, built a toilet at Ddimo Landing Site, and organised free medical camps across the district,” Nakyanzi said.

 

She urged the public to embrace the UPDF’s presence, emphasising that its personnel are well-trained and part of the community.

Col Lydia Nandudu, the Acting Director of Women Affairs in the UPDF and head of Civil-Military Cooperation – Air Force, encouraged women at the landing sites to be proactive in achieving financial independence.

 

Residents commended the UPDF for its discipline, high-quality medical services, and distribution of fruit tree seedlings.
