It Is Our Responsibility To Jointly Work With The People For Sustainable Progress – Brig Gen Bamwiseki

Brig Gen Bonny Bamwiseki the 4 Division commander has launched Tarehe Sita activities in the Division Area of responsibility, joining the rest of the country in a week-long Tarehe Sita activities to Mark the 42nd anniversary of the peoples’ army – the UPDF.

The jovial commander told the gathering at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital that these activities are done to give back to society as a social responsibility function to remind the people and soldiers alike that UPDF is a Peoples’ army in all forms, functions, and services.

The security forces joined hands and worked together in cleaning Gulu Regional Referral Hospital.

While speaking to the participants, Brig Gen Bonny Bamwiseki reminded the security forces that the peoples’ army is subordinate to the civilian authority and that it is the responsibility of the force to jointly work with the people to achieve steady progress.

Brig Gen Bamwiseki pointed out that the success of the founders of the revolution got strength from the civilians as he emphasized that the need to achieve close cooperation is mandatory.

However, Gen Bamwiseki that the steady progress seen today is a result of the sacrifices made by the gallant comrades who fought for the peace seen in the country today.

 

He thanked the leadership for recognizing this day that brings the forces to the people. He told the audience that many Civil-military activities are normally carried out throughout the week depending on the resource envelope and the peoples’ assessed needs.

 

The Division Commander was accompanied by DTO Col Mpola, and DPC Gulu ASP Kiiza Easter among others.

 

Relatedly, the Arua City Resident City Commissioner Madam Alice Akello launched Tarehe sita activities in the City with combined forces of 409 Bde for the defense forces week activities. Akello was accompanied by the Brigade Commander Col Ben Serwadda among others.
