Recycled Video On UPDF Recruitment 2022 Exercise

We have taken note of a video being shared on social media featuring Brig Gen Matthew Gureme, the former Chief of Training and Recruitment in the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), who is currently Uganda’s Defence Liaison Officer at the East African Community Secretariat headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania. In the video, Brig Gen Matthew Gureme is seen announcing a recruitment exercise of 2022.

We wish to clarify that the video is not current and the UPDF has not made any announcement anywhere in this regard.

We will provide clear information in both print and online/electronic media, when the next recruitment exercise is due.

We therefore urge the general public to disregard the old video which we suspect could be the work of conmen.
