Brig Gen Bainomugisha Urges Soldiers to Prioritise Knowledge and Integrity

The Commandant Military Police Brigade, Brig Gen William Bainomugisha has called on soldiers of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces to prioritise knowledge and integrity in the execution of their duties.

He made the remarks today while officiating the pass-out of 71 soldiers from Military Police who completed a 10-week Applied Intelligence Course at the School of Defence Intelligence and Security in Nakasongola District.

Speaking on behalf of Joint Staff Training and Doctrine, Brig Gen Bainomugisha emphasised the importance of intelligence training in equipping officers with the skills needed for effective operations.

“Intelligence without a mission is like a bird without wings,” he stated, advising the officers to uphold honesty, intelligence, and sound judgment in their duties.

He urged the graduates to remain committed to learning and skill development to effectively combat threats.

Col Frank Mukula, who represented the Deputy Chief of Defence Intelligence and Security, commended the Military Police leadership for prioritising intelligence training and acknowledged the continued support from the Chief of Defence Intelligence and Security.

Col James Muhumuza, the Commandant of the School of Defence Intelligence and Security, appreciated various UPDF offices and security leaders for facilitating field exercises and congratulated the graduates on their resilience, commitment, and discipline.

The ceremony was attended by senior UPDF officers, local leaders, and intelligence officials, including Nakasongola’s Deputy RDC Mr. Mushambo Bakunda Abel and Deputy DISO Namuyiga Florence.
