During the handover ceremony presided over by Brigadier General Gaetano Omola, the Vice Chairman of the Wazalendo SACCO Board of Directors, who urged the incoming office bearer to build on the achievements of his predecessor and ensure continuity in the SACCO’s operations.
Brig Gen Omola said leadership transitions should strengthen rather than disrupt an institution’s progress, emphasising the importance of humility, transparency and commitment to institutional growth.
“Leadership is a responsibility entrusted to us for a season. When the time comes to hand over, we must do so with humility, transparency and confidence that the institution we have served will continue to grow,” he said.
He added that the most important measure of leadership was not the individual office holder but the legacy left behind and the strength of the institution handed over to the next leader.
Wazalendo SACCO Chief Executive Officer, Brig Gen Yusuf Magero Buha, commended Capt Mwesigye for his dedication, commitment and contribution to the SACCO during his tenure as Acting Board Secretary.
“We really appreciate your contribution and I wish you the very best in your new assignment. You are still a member, of course, and go out there and become one of our very good ambassadors. We are banking on you, and we know you are going to do tremendous work still there as an ambassador,” Brig Gen Buha said.
In his remarks, Maj Ngabirano pledged to execute his new responsibilities with dedication, professionalism and integrity.
He recognised the contribution of his predecessor and expressed commitment to working closely with the Board, management and other stakeholders to promote the interests of Wazalendo SACCO and its members.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Wazalendo SACCO Board and other officials.
