The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) leadership has commended Masindi Army Secondary School for its strong performance in the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations, where the school ranked second in the district.
“You have done well, but this is only the beginning. We can do even better than what we have achieved so far. Continue working hard, stay disciplined, and success will follow,” Maj Gen Kakono said.
He appreciated the UPDF leadership for the continued support extended to the school, saying it has significantly contributed to improved academic performance and strengthened learning conditions.
“Masindi Army Secondary School has remained dear to the UPDF, not for any other reason but because of the consistent success you continue to achieve,” he said.
Brig Gen Karemire noted that UPDF formal education institutions have expanded to 53 schools, comprising 28 primary schools, 11 secondary schools, and four tertiary institutions, a development he attributed to the guidance by the President and Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who prioritised access to quality education for soldiers’ children and surrounding communities.
He emphasised that UPDF schools also admit learners from civilian communities, encouraging parents to take advantage of the institutions’ learning environment.
The function was attended by Col Rogers Dhikusooka Kitwala, Deputy Commander of the Artillery Division, commanding officers, the PTA chairperson, religious leaders, and members of the teaching staff.
