Wazalendo SACCO Gifts Member

Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization limited (WSACCO) on October 4th 2021 extended support to one of its members, Maj Emmanuel Mutezi, whose house was torched down by unknown arsonists on the morning of 23rd October 2021 at Kazinga in Nansana Municipality.

Maj Mutezi lost an infant during the attack and members of his family sustained serious burns. He too sustained burns.

This unfortunate incident led the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of WSACCO on behalf of the SACCOs Board of Directors and its management to deliver fifty (50) bags of cement and a cash condolence of UGX 1.5 million shillings to support the reconstruction of the burnt house. Col Onata also visited the wife of Maj Mutezi who is nursing burns at Lubaga Hospital in Kampala.

The CEO condemned the act and noted that this gesture was in fulfillment of WSACCO’s Corporate Social Responsibility.

He added that the SACCO shall furnish the burnt house and encouraged family members to keep strong as security forces investigate the unfortunate incident for justice to prevail.

” As WSACCO we stand with you during this trying moment. Our coming here is in line with our objective of dealing with the welfare of our members and in fulfillment of one of the key principles of Cooperatives; concern for the community. You are also part of the wider community within which we operate,” remarked Col Onata. He further commended locals for supporting Maj Mutezi and his family.

Maj Mutezi lauded the UPDF fraternity for standing with him at such a trying moment.
