The UPDF Chief of Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Brig Gen Emmanuel Rwashande commended Kenyan Government for its unwavering support towards the successful completion of the 3rd Edition of the East Africa Community (EAC) Armed Forces Civil Military activities.
He noted that UPDF medical contribution towards the treatment of patients will further strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two nations. He added that the close cooperation of all EAC Partner States will trickle-down the benefits of the EAC integration process.
Brig Gen Rwashande, was speaking during the closure of the UPDF Medical Outreach based at Ewuaso Health Center in Kajiado County Nairobi Kenya, to mark the EAC Armed Forces Civil Military Activities.
He lauded the UPDF medical experts who participated in offering free dental and eye care, free HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing, and minor surgeries, among others, for a job well done. ” Our discipline, cooperation and hardwork has seen our team treat hundreds of patients from within Kajiado County and those from as far as Tanzania,” the Gen noted. Gen Rwashande also commended locals for responding to the gains from the medical outreach.
Dr. Joshua Punya, the Ewuaso Health Center Administrator appreciated the UPDF for the wonderful service that had about 300 patients treated daily.
The EAC is a regional intergovernmental organization of six Partner States from the Republics of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda with its headquarters in Arusha Tanzania. It aims at achieving prosperity, cooperation, security, stability, and political unification in its Partner States.
