43 Officers of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces completed a five-day training in Military Internal Security Operations at the Legal Training Centre, Gadaffi Barracks, Jinja City.
Brig Gen Bainomugisha urged the graduates to embrace continuous training, as it enhances their knowledge, skills, and professionalism, ultimately improving their effectiveness in duty.
He called on them to uphold good health, loyalty, hard work, and the core values of the UPDF.
Maj Wako Wambuzi, who represented the Commandant of LTC, noted that the participants were drawn from the Military Police, Legal Department, Special Investigations Branch, and Special Forces Command.

P⁰Mr. Tomboy described the training as a milestone, showcasing the UPDF’s commitment to upholding human rights.
Senior Superintendent of Police Muzuira Andrew, representing the Regional Police Commander of Kiira, underscored the necessity of a collaborative approach to security.
He reminded officers that the people they interact with are fellow citizens and should be treated accordingly.
The best performers of the course included Maj Edward Kayiwa, who demonstrated outstanding leadership skills, Capt Ben Iranya, recognized as the most active participant in class, and Lt Gloria Nabagesera, awarded for being the most disciplined and the best female participant.
The ceremony was attended by officials from the ICRC, including Mrs. Patricia Bako and Mrs. Sahar, as well as Lt Col Perez Muhwezi, who represented the Commandant of the Non-Commissioned Officers Academy. Senior and junior officers from Jinja Cantonment also attended.
