UPDF 3 Infantry Division Passes Out 180 NCOs After Ideological Training

The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) 3 Infantry Division has passed out 180 Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) who completed a three-month ideological training course.

The NCOs were drawn from the various units under the Division.

Maj Gen Wilberforce Sserunkuma the 3 Division Commander who officiated at the pass out underscored the importance of the course in improving tactical skills and enhancing the ideological clarity to reinforce the values that guide the force.

He reminded them that the strength of any army relies not only on its weaponry but on the quality of its Non-Commissioned Officer corps, which forms the backbone of military effectiveness.

He urged them to embrace future training opportunities and inspire their colleagues.

“Training is the heartbeat of the force,” Maj Gen Sserunkuma said, “Train your men with whatever little you know.”

The Division Training and Operations Officer, Col Santurino Tumuranzye appealed to the trainees to put the knowledge acquired to practice in order to develop their military career.

Meanwhile, Sgt Bwabale emerged best in drill, L/Cpl Oyaka Boniface best in range, Pte Adeke Shalom best female student of the course and Pte Kitale Gordon was the overall best student.

Present at the ceremony were ACP Francis Chemusto the Commandant Anti Stock Theft Unit, Assistant RDC Moroto Mr Aol Mark Musooka, Senior and junior officers of UPDF, Police.
