In his remarks after welcoming participants, the General Manager Kinyara Sugar Limited Mr. Ravi Ramalingam noted that the factory aims at becoming a market leader in the production of white sugar and green energy by partnering with communities for inclusive growth.

He said the factory employs over 20,000 people through both direct and indirect employment and produces about 9.5MW of power used for the production of sugar and in support of other activities.

The General Manager added that the factory is also environmentally friendly since it has both the bio-fertilizer and bio-pesticide plants and laboratories that produce pesticides and fertilizers to enrich the downtrodden soils.

Additionally, soil testing is also done before usage and the factory trains sugar cane outgrowers free of charge, added Mr. Ravi.
