Maj Gen Busizoori Closes Pre-Deployment Training For UPDF Battle Groups

Deputy Commander Land Force Major General Felix Busozori closed a pre-deployment training programme for two Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces Battle Groups at the International Peace Support Operations Training Centre (IPSO-TC) Singo.

Maj Gen Busozori commended the troops for their endurance, discipline and tactical competence demonstrated throughout the training.

He reminded the troops that the increasingly complex and unpredictable operational environment requires troops to demonstrate endurance, commitment, flexibility and teamwork.

He emphasised the need for continuous and realistic training, saying adequate preparation equips troops with the skills required to operate effectively in the field.

Maj Gen Busizoori encouraged the troops to draw lessons from previous deployments to improve operational effectiveness.

“Those who came before have paid a price to learn. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Study their experiences, both successes and mistakes, and apply them,” he said.

The Commandant of IPSO-TC, Col Moses Nabasa, said the two Battle Groups had successfully completed all phases of the mission training package.

Col Nabasa said the troops had demonstrated high morale, discipline, physical fitness and tactical skills, and were ready for deployment.

Present were senior and junior officers of the UPDF.
