Be Loyal To UPDF, Military Police Chief Tells Kabamba Cadets

The Commandant of the Military Police Brigade, Maj Gen William Beinomugisha, has urged officer cadets to always lead by example and remain loyal to the institution.

The two-star general was delivering a lecture of opportunity on the roles of the Military Police to the three-year Bachelor of Defence Studies in Kabamba (BDSK) officer cadets at the Uganda Military Academy, Kabamba, on September 22, 2026.

Maj Gen Beinomugisha told cadets that young people are capable of taking the country to another level if they are trusted, hardworking and loyal to the leadership.

He elaborated that among the key roles of the Military Police are VIP protection, enforcing discipline in the UPDF and escorting war materials during both wartime and peacetime.

“The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) will assist you in your career progression during your training and after commissioning,” he said.

He further advised them to be patient and lead by example while serving the Army, noting that it is because of his patience and loyalty to the Army that he has become what he is today.

He pointed out that an officer who serves his country well can even be respected by his subordinates, adding that leadership comes with the responsibility of protecting the country and its people.

Maj Gen Beinomugisha also advised them to always perform their duties with a high level of professionalism, saying this level of training enhances efficiency in command, administration as well as combat readiness capabilities.
