Be Disciplined And Don’t Lose Track – Major General Bakasumba

The Chief of Staff of the Land Forces, Major General Jack Bakasumba, has urged soldiers to prioritize discipline to excel in their careers and achieve good results.

 

“Be disciplined and don’t lose track. Endeavour to do the right thing that is within the law as expected from you by the leadership and wanainchi. You are the force that will bring solutions at any level of operation,” said Maj Gen Bakasumba.

 

He made the remarks at the pass-out ceremony of 168 soldiers who completed a 4-month training in 3 courses; Basic Logistics Management Course, Basic Catering Course and Basic Arms Management Course at the College Of Logistics and Engineering, Magamaga Barracks, Mayuge District.

 

Maj Gen Bakasumba added that the UPDF conducts such courses to produce excellent cadres with modern skills to support units by providing improved and better services. “We are confident that these courses have enabled you to be professional staff to have a sustainable force during peace and foresee the feasibility of Arms and ammunition management so that operations capability is maintained during war times,” said Maj Gen Bakasumba as he implored graduands to put to proper use the skill acquired from these courses as much is expected from them.

 

The Chief Instructor of the College of Logistics and Engineering, Maj Charles Morongo on behalf of the Commandant said that, out of the 168 students, 72 graduated in BCC, 43 in BMLMC and 53 in BAMC.

 

Lt Joel Amanyu was the best overall in BMLMC, Pete Nankungu Brenda was best overall in BCC while LDP Ayebazibwe Penelope was best in BCC practical.

 

Present at the function were the Deputy Chief of Logistics and Engineering Brig Gen Godwin Karugaba, Brig Gen Dr Kiyengo who represented the Chief of Medical Services, and Col Katongole among others.
