A top commander of the Allied Democratic Forces known as Kamusi has been injured and two of his close bodyguards were put of action by security forces in Kibale Forest.
On 5th December 2023, Kamusi and his group attacked an elderly lady, Biira Betty in Kanyatete village in Kasese District and hacked her to death, injuring her attendant, a 14-year-old boy named Masereka Harrison.
Upon receiving the information about the unfortunate incident, the UPDF through technical intelligence and in collaboration with the deceased’s relatives managed to track Kamusi and his group in Kibale forest.
Two of his close bodyguards were killed and the following SMG rifles were recovered: two guns, Number NY3231, Number 2900339 a total of 37 rounds of ammunition.
This was the surviving group of Njovu (who was arrested earlier in November) which was attempting to cross into Kibale to establish bases.
