SFC Honours 67 Personnel For Dedicated Military Service

The Special Forces Command (SFC) has honoured 67 officers and men for their dedicated service to Uganda, particularly during their service in the Command.

The group comprised junior and non-commissioned officers. Other senior officers who attended the ceremony are due for official retirement scheduled for 12 2026.

Representing the Commander SFC, Chief of Staff – SFC, Brigadier General John Mango Baraza, congratulated the retirees for their contribution to national security through military operations, VVIP protection, peace support missions and other strategic assignments.

“Many of you have endured challenges in the course of duty, including long periods away from your families, working in risky environments and accepting sacrifices without hesitation,” Brig Gen Baraza said.

He urged the retirees to approach civilian life with optimism and put the skills and experience acquired during their military careers to productive use. He also encouraged them to maintain the discipline, integrity, patriotism and resilience cultivated during their service.

The Director of Human Resource Management at SFC, Colonel Night Ikiriza, commended the retirees for their courage, discipline, loyalty and selfless commitment to defending Uganda throughout their service.

Col Ikiriza recognised the contribution of spouses and families, noting that their sacrifices and unwavering support had played an important role in enabling the soldiers to successfully serve in the UPDF.

Speaking on behalf of the retirees, Capt Boaz Barigye Kazinduki, the senior-most among the junior officers, thanked the UPDF and SFC leadership for the guidance, opportunities and enabling environment that allowed them to serve in various capacities.

He also expressed appreciation to the families of the retirees for their continued support and sacrifices throughout their military careers.

The ceremony was attended by Col Kato, Deputy Commander of 3 SFG, brigade commanders, directors, senior and junior officers, non-commissioned officers, spouses and relatives of the retirees.
