Disturbing graphic content of animals being shot at by men in military-like attire has been making rounds on social media for some time now. The act has been falsely attributed to UPDF by some elements for reasons best known to them.
This serves to clarify to the public that this incident was not in Uganda but rather in Eastern DRC by elements of FDLR rebels who attacked cows belonging to the Masisi people.
The UPDF respects the rights of animals and this can be attested to by civilians both in Uganda and everywhere we go for operations including protecting Kraals in areas like Karamoja.
UPDF remains committed to its mandate to the people of Uganda and their property.
