Maimai Rebels Captured In Uganda

Two Congolese nationals were yesterday arrested inside Uganda armed with AK 47 SMG and several rounds of ammunition.

 

They were intercepted by the UPDF 23rd battalion in Kyeshero in Kanungu district.

 

The duo confessed to be fighters of the MAIMAI militia group in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

 

The Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs and UPDF remains committed to defending the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Uganda.
