Addressing officers and personnel during a Unit Baraza held today at the Division Headquarters in Gulu, Maj Gen Busizoori underscored the importance of accountability and integrity within the ranks. “We must fight corruption in all its forms. It is the only way we can move forward as a country,” he said, urging soldiers to lead by example in building a transparent and principled force.
He issued a stern warning against desertion, describing it as a misuse of government resources and a betrayal of national service. “A lot of money is invested in you from recruitment to training and deployment. Many others were denied the chance to serve. If you abandon your duties after all that investment, you are sabotaging the system. Such acts will not be tolerated. If caught, the law will take its course,” he warned.
Maj Gen Busizoori also encouraged troops to embrace financial discipline and adopt a culture of saving to enhance their wellbeing. “Through consistent saving, you can steadily improve your life. It’s not about how much you earn, but how well you manage it,” he noted.
The Baraza was attended by Brigadier General Jackson Kayanja, Deputy Division Commander, along with departmental heads, senior officers, and staff officers.
