“The UPDF is saddened by the loss of such a great and professional cadre whose input was still much needed,” Gen Kainerugaba said.
He added that Brig Gen Mwesigwa leaves behind a legacy of sacrifice, loyalty, professionalism and service to the nation, which would continue to inspire future generations of military personnel.
“Beyond his professional life, he inspired many within and outside military circles. Gen Mwesigwa was a distinguished military officer who valued his work throughout his entire life,” he said.
Lt Gen Mugira, speaking on behalf of NEC, described Brig Gen Mwesigwa as a young officer who still had much to contribute to his family, the UPDF and the country.
“We thank God for the life of Brig Gen Moses Mwesigwa and the life of service he lived,” Lt Gen Mugira said.
The late’s wife, Aisha Akarungi, described her husband as a loving father who was committed, hardworking and dedicated to the wellbeing of his family.
She also thanked Lt Gen Mugira and the UPDF for supporting and caring for her husband until his final moments.
Military Career
He rose through the military ranks and held various appointments during his career, serving the UPDF in different capacities.
At the time of his death, Brig Gen Mwesigwa was serving as General Manager of a subsidiary of NEC Security Services Limited.
