Timely And Actionable Intelligence Has Contributed To Operational Achievements – Brig Gen Busizoori

The 3 Infantry Division Deputy Commander Brig Gen Felix Busizoori has hailed the intelligence fraternity in Eastern Uganda for providing timely and actionable intelligence which contributed to the operational achievements in the region. He made the remarks today as he presided over the handover and takeover ceremony of the Division Intelligence Officer (DIO) at Moroto Army barracks.

 

“I appreciate Lt Col Shem Nakora and the intelligence fraternity for the achievements made especially in the identification of 500 hardcore criminals in Karamonja Sub-region,” remarked Brig Gen Busizoori.

Brig Gen Busizoori lauded the intelligence officers for their analytical skills towards unfolding situational threats. He urged the intelligence officers to double their efforts so as to maintain operation tempo since a lot remains desired to pacify the Sub-region.

 

Col Frank Mukula, Director of Intelligence Collection who represented the Deputy Chief of Military Intelligence noted that intelligence is a key component in support of military operations.

 

The outgoing Division intelligence officer Lt Col Shem who has been instrumental in the intelligence-led disarmament operation is set to go on course and handed over the office to his incoming counterpart Lt Col Fred Wemba.

 

Lt Col Shem appreciated the UPDF leadership and Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence for the provision of logistical support to the department in the ongoing operations. He thanked his counterparts for the coordination and cooperation rendered to him during his tenure of office and encouraged the new DIO to utilize the influence of stakeholders and local leaders in the execution of his roles.

 

On his part, Lt Col Fred Wemba pledged commitment towards achieving results in the Division. “I am ready to join a dedicated Division and team as I set foot on the ground to add on my energy that will maintain security and peace in the efforts towards transformation,” said Lt Col Wemba.

 

Present were staff from Uganda Police Force, Uganda Prisons Service, Internal Security Organization (ISO), Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU), Brigades and key Staff Officers attached at Division Headquarters.
