Maj Gen Busizoori made the remarks as he presided over the change of leadership of Brigade Commanders under the 4 Infantry Division that was held in Paidha, Zombo District.
Emphasising the importance of accountability, he cautioned, “As the monkey climbs higher on the tree, the more it exposes its behind. So, we are watching wherever you are deployed.”
Maj Gen Busizoori reminded the commanders that the UPDF’s reputation is built on discipline and community engagement, urging them to remain vigilant, avoid intervening in political disputes, and prioritize mobilizing and sensitizing locals, as the UPDF values cooperation and teamwork.
As the country approaches a crucial political period, Maj Gen Busizoori warned the commanders to remain adaptable to evolving situations, and continue cooperating with local communities to address the challenges of securing porous borders and combating smuggling.
He stressed that while these issues cannot be solved overnight, persistence and collaboration with the public are key to achieving their objectives.
The event was attended by Brig Gen Jackson Kayanja, the 4 Infantry Division Deputy Commander, Battalion commanders, and staff from the two Brigades among others.
