The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) 4 Infantry Division has welcomed Brig Gen Paul Muwonge as the new Deputy Division Commander.
The handover and takeover ceremony, presided over by the Division Commander Maj Gen Felix Busizoori, saw Brig Gen Jackson Kayanja handing over office to Brig Gen Muwonge.
Maj Gen Busizoori commended the outgoing deputy, Brig Gen Kayanja, for his professionalism, competence, and dedication during his tenure.
Brig Gen Kayanja thanked the UPDF leadership for trusting him with various strategic roles and emphasised the importance of supporting the Division’s technical teams to achieve operational goals.
Brig Gen Muwonge, expressed gratitude to the UPDF leadership for entrusting him with the role and pledged to work closely with the Division’s staff to maintain efficiency and effectiveness in all operations.
The ceremony was attended by security stakeholders from the Acholi and West Nile regions, senior and junior UPDF officers, brigade commanders, and heads of departments under the 4th Infantry Division.
