The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) 4 Infantry Division commander, Major General Felix Busizoori, has urged troops to maintain discipline and live within their means as Uganda approaches the 2026 General Elections.
During a routine barracks sensitisation at the division headquarters in Gulu, Maj Gen Busizoori warned that anyone attempting to undermine the electoral process would face legal action.
He advised soldiers to avoid luxurious lifestyles and focus on prudent living.
He encouraged the troops to invest in resources such as livestock and other ventures to support themselves after retirement and to foster family connections by visiting ancestral homes with their spouses.
Maj Gen Busizoori further cautioned against indiscipline, alcohol abuse, and behaviours that could compromise military service or social standing.
The session was attended by Brigadier Paul Muwonge, the Deputy Division Commander, departmental heads, and staff officers.
