President Museveni Praised For Strengthening Uganda-India Ties

Air Commodore Kedar Thaakar, Director of the National Forensic Sciences University (India) – Uganda Campus, has praised His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of Uganda, for his dedication to fostering relations between Uganda and India.

“We thank the President of Uganda for his good relationship with the government of India, who accepted the idea of starting up a National Forensic Sciences University Uganda campus,” Air Commodore Thaakar said.

He made these remarks while officiating at the International Yoga Day celebrations at the National Forensic Sciences University (India) Uganda Campus, located at Gaddafi Barracks in Jinja district.

Air Commodore Thaakar stated that the campus aims to promote forensic culture and expertise in forensic techniques and technologies among police, defence forces, judiciary, prosecutors, security agencies, and related departments. He added that the university is open to all students, not just security personnel, and welcomes students from around the world.

Brig Gen Peter Geatano Omola, Commandant of the Uganda Rapid Deployment Capability Centre (URDCC), commended the governments of Uganda and India for their cordial relationship, which has fostered development in Uganda. He encouraged people to participate in yoga, highlighting its benefits as a physical exercise, mental relief, and spiritual nourishment.

The event was attended by officers from the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces, military personnel, and staff from the National Forensic Sciences University (India) Uganda campus.
