The two Generals later signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation between their forces in combating terrorism and securing the shared border.
Before his departure, Lt Gen Mwilambwe hosted an exclusive dinner in honor of Gen Kainerugaba’s visit. The dinner was attended by senior FARDC commanders and Congolese government officials.
As he concluded his trip, Gen Kainerugaba was seen off at N’djili International Airport by Lt Gen Jules and other high-ranking military and government officials.
This visit marks another milestone in the growing military and diplomatic ties between Kampala and Kinshasa, as both countries intensify efforts to stabilize the volatile eastern DRC and the East African region at large.
